Women Peeing At Music Festivals

February 11th, 2014 | Stacy Kwan

One of the worst places for a woman to need to pee is at a large concert or music festival. Beer is flowing, the music is pounding, people are everywhere and lines to the bathrooms or portable toilets are a mile long. So what’s a girl supposed to do when her beer has reached the point of no return and needs to exit the body as soon as possible? There are basically three options – wait in line for a soaked, stinky facility, hold it or find a place to squat. All three options pretty much suck.

As much as I hate to admit it, events like this are where those creepy cardboard funnels make sense. No skill or thought involved, just pay the money, shove it under there and let her rip, vagina paper cuts be damned.  Never mind that the collective souls using these out of desperation have left a mound of cardboard to be sent off to landfill, killing countless trees.

This is where women need to stop being so damn tragic and start being pro-active, maybe with the help of concert promoters and telling women there is an alternative to having to get into a humiliating position. Many concerts in Western Europe bring in portable urinals for men – walk up, unzip and go. Women have no simple alternative, unless they are Stand2Pee graduates, and many women wind up like the poor girl below, squatting in the piss-soaked mud next to a perfectly functional urinal that she doesn’t know she could use very easily IF she learned Stand2pee.

Sitting On A Urinal Out of Desperation

January 9th, 2014 | Stacy Kwan

Since the Stand2Pee.com website launched and I started writing a blog discussing the trials and tribulations of being female away from the comforts of home, the mail started pouring in. Some has been positive, some negative, some perverted, and some plain weird! Along the way, many have sent pictures that match the descriptive words above. Some of these pictures are of girls sitting on a urinal.

Yes, I said SITTING on a urinal!

For the life of me, I cannot fathom sitting on the lip of a urinal with my bare skin touching any part of the porcelain and the only logic I can lend to this scenario is that desperate times call for desperate measures.

Someone snapped this picture at a concert, and it’s seems to be pretty clear this is not a posed shot of some girls in a college dorm in a controlled environment, but one where the lines to both the women’s room and the stalls in the men’s room were too long and the only option available was to back in to the urinal.  All I can say is, poor thing.

For all the Go-Girl fans and women that use a funnel, this is the perfect example of what happens when you forget the FUD – you are SOL!  The one-day investment into learning how to pee standing up pays lifetime dividends – dividends this woman in that exact moment likely wishes she had made.

Writing Your Name In The Snow

January 7th, 2014 | Stacy Kwan

With much of the country frozen and covered with ice and snow, I almost feel guilty stating I am in California wearing shorts and a t-shirt with short sleeves, but with the cost of rent in San Francisco, in relation to most of the rest of the country…ok, I am rambling here!  As an outdoorsy person, I enjoy the snow (almost) as much as the next, but being a girl in the snow can cause some challenges. The clothing sure doesn’t help, in particular, the way snow suits are designed, so if you need to go, it’s a monumental process.

So for a moment let’s imagine we are not wearing 17 layers of flannel long-johns and snow pants when we need to pee.  Naturally,  a nice and warm indoor location would be prime, but that’s not always going to happen.  Women do go cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snow shoeing or go to Packers games in the frigid cold, and having to squat in or over the snow or sit on a frozen seat sucks.

Writing your name in the snow is pretty damn cool, unless your name is Bernadette. Stacy with all the curves can be a challenge, but it can be done – by a girl with girl anatomy.  With all the demand for the Stand2Pee DVD through Amazon.com we have decided to extend the Christmas and New Years sale for another week – so for a very limited time you can buy our DVD for just $12.95.

And when you succeed, please send pictures…lol!

November 26th, 2013 | Stacy Kwan

Oh my, it has been a long time since I’ve posted a new blog. It’s been a busy year, but that is no excuse for not keeping people up to date with what’s been going on with me, the website, Stand2Pee events, letters, comments and of course the nasty emails – nasty as in nasty, and just plain nasty.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I’ve been sent thanks from women in the US Armed Forces stationed here in the USA as well as in Afghanistan and other areas around the globe. Thanks for your support and thanks for your service.

Stay tuned for a Black Friday and Christmas sale for the Stand2Pee DVD on Amazon.com coming in a matter of hours!

Risking Your Life to Pee

February 7th, 2013 | Stacy Kwan

Would you risk your life to go pee? If you are a girl, a girl who drinks, and a girl who drinks while on a boat with no bathroom, you may fall into this category.

Spring Break each year is filled with stories of lakes, bays and rivers where boats are filled with drinking students taking a week from studying and chilling out far from parental guidance and overbearing professors. Beer, beer and more beer means peeing and more peeing, and when on a small boat, the surrounding water is where the used beer ends up.

The guys head to the boat’s edge and arc easily into the lake. Girls, on the other hand, have to take a number of things into consideration. Who is around? Are there any other boats close by? Can anyone see me from the shore? She could take a dip into the water, but more often than not, she sits on the boat’s railing and provides a full moon.

If she’s had a few brews, her balance on the railing may not be very good and if it is after dark, teetering on the edge can be rather dangerous. A miscalculation can result into an unwanted tumble into the night that could be fatal. We are now working with several outdoors shops to stock our Stand2Pee DVD on their shelves to help level the boating playing field for women and possibly save a life.

Girl in Levi’s TV Commercial Using a Urinal

February 6th, 2013 | Stacy Kwan

I came across this video on YouTube recently of a mock/demo commercial for Levi’s jeans. It’s a pretty gal on a hot day who’s been drinking way too much water. She needs to find a place to let it out.

She looks high and low and there is no place to pop a squat so she runs into off building, sees a great looking guy in the elevator. She tries the women’s room door which is locked and out of desperation follows him into the men’s room and sides up next to him at the urinal to his right.

She drops her trousers and then sits, yes, sits on the urinal’s edge while looking flirtatiously at the guy, and he to her.

It would have awesome if the commercial’s director, Nailah Holliday had seen the Stand2Pee DVD and utilized that knowledge into her piece…that would have made it 200% cooler, in one girl’s opinion

Squat Toilets in China With Very Little Privacy

February 5th, 2013 | Stacy Kwan

As someone who has traveled to the parts of the world that have not embraced Western-style toilets, let me tell you first-hand, it is tough to be a girl at times.

As we outline in the Stand2Pee video, the ability to pee standing up comes in handy many times each day when confronted with glorified holes in the ground that women are expected to use without question. In some cases there are no doors or partitions and you have women, often times, many of women popping squats next to each other…lovely image, huh?

A Facebook follower sent me this link below of public toilets in China where they put thigh-high pink partitions around these floor toilets, offering just enough room to straddle and squat. Honestly, I’m not sure how I would personally handle this situation. There is not enough room to stand and aim, so I suppose I would have to conform and deal with my cramped surroundings.

My belief here is that if Chinese women are willing to use this type of facility with limited privacy, they would be willing to use urinals with partitions, provided China begins teaching girls how to pee standing up.

The Reason Behind Stand2Pee

February 4th, 2013 | Stacy Kwan

I get asked all the time, “Why did you start Stand2Pee?”

The simple answer is, it is a needed product in a world where women are often second-class citizens when it comes to plumbing fixtures and convenience. And yes, there are gadgets, but if one wants to proceed through life with training wheels versus actual skill, so be it.

I came across two very powerful quotes over the weekend that just helped build my resolve even more when it comes to WHY.

Google CEO, Larry Page, said “If you’re not doing something crazy, you’re doing the wrong things.” People tell me I am crazy, all the time, so thank you for the validation!

Sir Richard Branson said “All progress comes from entrepreneurs with big ideas.” Since Stand2Pee is the only company talking a stand, so to speak for women and willing to make a substantial investment in the teaching of the skill, this again validates our mission.

Portable Urinals Installed in Sydney Australia

January 28th, 2013 | Stacy Kwan

A TV news report from Ten News about portable urinals in downtown Sydney near the bustling night club part of town to help prevent people from peeing in doorways and other public places.

The report, which does not get gender-specific, uses the wording “drinkers who find themselves caught short,” and drunken clubbers,” and seems to focus on women, as they show gals in short skirts and looking a bit tipsy.

Since these are the standard public urinals that can be found all over Amsterdam, it is not clear if the story was targeted toward women, or it was just coincidence that the bulk of the file footage focuses on drunk girls rather than guys assuming the position beside a parked car.

Would the average Sydney club-going woman be willing to learn Stand2Pee to take advantage of these urinals?
